The customer service isn't exceptional, but it's adequate. This is a respectable car company, one of the few remaining in an industry often marked by dishonesty. The staff were nice and helpful. The car was nice and clean. But we did experience over 40mins of delay before the car became available.

Our flight was delayed and Fox/expedia would not figure out a way to hold the car for us or contact the location directly. It took over an hour on the phone and in person to finally figure out a way to get in touch the branch and then it got solved.

Pickup was incredibly fast, we had previously only rented from Budget and that was always a nightmare experience of long lines, no cars, etc. Salesperson was very pleasant, no pressure to purchase extra options. Dropoff was also quick. Only drawback is we waited longer for shuttle at LAX, watching many other car companies go by multiple times, could have been a matter of timing.
While I book the car with your platform it's show unlimited mileage but when I pick up the car, Midway staff told me that for LA residence there are only 150 mile/day not unlimited as you said on your page. I ended up to paid more for mileage charge.

The location is off airport so we had to take 2 shuttles from LAX to pick up the car. Other than that, things went smoothly as it should. Price was more reasonable vs several other big rental companies. Staff were friendly and helpful. Be aware that your rate can change if you drop off early. I dropped off a few hours early to stand by for an earlier flight and my rate went up by $50. I thought I did them a favor by returning the car early 😅 Luckily they corrected it for me. Cars were in good condition (2025-2026 model). Customer service was very responsive and prompt. Overall good experience with this company and would recommend them to anyone looking to rent at LAX.

Hertz was closed at drop off point took multiple calls and bad input from them to facilitate leaving car at lot UNLOCKED WITH THE KEY IN IT PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS.
A situation arose where I needed a larger vehicle, and they upgraded the car within seconds at no extra cost. Remarkable service.

The main problem was at the new LAX rental center. This place is massive, and not so easy to find where you need to go without someone giving you directions. But the real problem was with Avis staffing and car management. There were only two agents at the desk, both who were amazing in dealing with the stress, but the line move so slow - it took 30 minutes to process all of 6 or 7 rentals in front of me. And then when my rental was processed, I was asked to sit and wait while they found a car for me. Another 30 minutes. And then when I was assigned a car in a spot, I went to that spot and there was no car. So I went to the counter down in the parking area, and a very nice attendant went and found me a car. Took her two tries, but she did find one, changed my paperwork, and I left the rental center almost 90 min after arriving. If this was at a super high volume time I would understand a little more, but this was 9pm on a Wednesday evening. Again, the staff was doing the best they could, and everyone was very professional and working very hard, best I could tell. This is a management issue plane and simple. Maybe the LAX rental center is to blame. Don't know, I was renting for a one way to get to Bakersfield the next morning to pick up another vehicle, but had I just finished a 12 hour (or longer ) international trip, gone through baggage claim and customs, waited for and taken the shuttle to the rent center only to wait another hour + to get my car, it would have been hard not to lose it. To everyone's credit that night, despite some tears and clear expressions of frustration, the renters and the rental car employees kept things civil. I don't pretend to understand the challenges at these mega rental centers, but the one at LAX seems to be a disaster. I'll avoid it as much as I can. And for Avis's part, I can only guess that they had their part in it, too. We rent from Avis often times because my wife's employer has a corp account with special pricing, but the service is always hit and miss. Its a tough biz……...

This was the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had!!! upon landing. I went directly to the Avis office to pick up my vehicle which had been reserved two weeks prior. I was traveling with my elderly parents, and I asked them to wait at the baggage claim area in the airport since they do not have mobility and it would be difficult for them to take the shuttle to the Avis car pick up. It typically takes about 30 minutes to get a rental car and that would have been an easy way for them since we did not have any checked-baggage to pick up. . upon arrival at the Avis counter. I was met by a crowd of 300 people standing in line. Approximately four agents were working that day, December 25, 2025 at 12 noon there was a very slow process to check in everyone … nowhere to sit… no way to charge your phone no way to step out of line to use the bathroom. The crowd was hostile and it took over four hours to get my rental car. if I had any way of getting another rental car I would have left, but at this time other car rentals were sold out, and I got stuck having to wait for the service that Avis was able to provide! the workers seemed angry to work December 25. They seemed unhappy to be there. One female employee walked away from the desk at least 7 times to go get coffee as if to be sure, she didn’t work the crowd that was lined up in a speedy way… she made every effort to slow the process. Once her shift ended, she happily put her purse on her shoulder and walked off while the crowd was yelling. What’s happening? Where are you going? She turned to the crowd and said I’m going home!! some employees huddled while in view of customers and chatted with each other. As if to plan when their exit would come. When I finally got to the front of the counter four hours later, I was grateful that I had not needed to use the bathroom and I was grateful that I had a few peanut butter cups in my purse to survive on for food since I had traveled from the East Coast and have been traveling all day ! my phone battery had died, and I had asked my neighbor to loan me her charger pack, since I now had no way to contact my elderly parents still waiting for me at baggage claim in terminal one.. It only took me five minutes to get my vehicle once I made it to the front of the line. I had created an Avis profile in order to speed the process up. the young man who checked processed my rental was very efficient however he was the only employee that seemed to care that we were in need of help and stranded until someone had the heart to work our rental . People began to scream out loud asking if there were even any cars in the back for us once we made it through the line. Will we be able to get cars. I knew in my heart that there was going to soon be a riot and I pray that I could get out of there before that happened. . While I stood, there are signing the agreement other customers bombarded the desk asking about their particular cases saying that they needed help. Angry that they were not able to get SUVs for parties that were larger in size. They were promised SUVs and they were unable to get them that day. I got angry and asked them to please step away since I have waited in that line for four hours. It was now my turn to be serviced once I got the vehicle. There were no issues thereafter, but I still promised myself. I would never use Avis again.
The staff at the counter were helpful and friendly. The problem was the time it took from leaving the counter to picking up the car. We were in a line for 1.5hr and when we returned a week later the line looked similar again. I don't know what they're doing at LAX but they just need to look at how its done almost anywhere else in the world and do the same. Have never had to wait for a car like this before.

First 2 vehicles given to us needed oil changes (we were about to drive 3600 miles) - check in counter people very unfriendly and uncooperative. Third vehicle was not what we reserved but had to take it anyway. Seemed like we were on a third world backwater instead if LAX. Took over 2 hours for us to be on our way at 2:30 AM. Took involvement of manager yo straighten it out and even he was having difficulty. Very poor performance by all.

There is a huge disconnect between what Kayak sells/offers versus what is truly provided by the rental car companies. The class of vehicles between third party providers and rental companies needs to be reviewed and validated. Using Kayak I requested the more expensive 12-passenger van class but was provided the smaller/cheaper minivan from Thrifty Rental Car. Each party blaming each other for the mistake while the customer suffers. Will definitely never recommend either. I deserve a refund.

Someone needs to put on a separate site that your website NEVER honors the car that is being advertised and it’s always some different type of car that is supposedly similar to the car in the picture advertised. Maybe a website that is viewed anytime a person tries to rent a car through Kayak that is not the car they will receive. Also, it was over a hour wait to get the car when we first showed up on property.

My booking was not honored because the site I used was from HongKong and my driver's license is from Canada. I have never heard of this. At LAX, the counter told me that I had to request for a cancellation through qeeq via email, and told me they would book one through her system. It was x3 the price. I have not been able to cancel through qeeq. One of the worst car rental experiences I have had. I do not recommend Dollar nor qeeq. It seems like fraud.

I dropped off my vehicle at 5:15am at LAX rental center. There was one employee a couple of cars ahead of me She said I can go if there was no damage. I accidentally left the keys in my pocket. I realized this at the airport and gave them to the dollar shuttle driver to get them back. At the airport I saw that they charged me $500 for the keys. No tried to contact me and obviously I had the keys. I was still at the rental center when my car was checked in. I tried multiple times to call the rental office at LAX. The phone rings three times then hangs up. I wrote a complaint to them. Two days later and the charge is still on my credit card. The fact that it is impossible to speak to anyone is so infuriating.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental agency. The car alarm repeatedly went off when we tried to open the car with the key. We contacted the company and they refused to bring us a new rental. Their solution was for us to go to an auto parts store to replace fob key on our vacation. Also the blinker did not work. Then the battery went dead and we missed 1 hour of my sister’s wedding reception. Also the communication about shuttle pick up was false causing us to have to walk from car rental depot to get rental. The company also does not answer their phones. Overall horrible experience. Do not use this company!

This was the smoothest vehicle rental place I've ever rented from. Quick service, easy fast pick up, smooth clean ride, can't get over how fast I was on the road. I've been to other rental places and waited hours for my car. I was here for 5 minutes and had my van ready. Friendly helpful staff and close location to airport with easy shuttle service. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them if you need a passenger van.

The 5am opening time was a little if-fy for a 7am flight but everyone arrived on time. The pickup procedure was lengthy and they could have had additional setups that the renters could have used while waiting in line for a faster pickup.

The pick up took quite a while. It was just difficult getting to the lot. I got instructions in email and then different instructions from employees. Then getting to the lot took about an hour of waiting and riding in a bus then a van….. I guess that’s what I get for going cheap!

Please ask about insurance options because they do not tell you. When I checked in they asked if I would like the insurance option to cover the other car or the hire car. I said I would like the insurance to cover the hire car. So it was $55 per day which I am ok with. I clipped the mirrors of the hire car so when I got back to drop it off they charged me $us1000. I said I thought I paid for the car to be covered and then she says no that’s the $75 cover option. I said I’m sure I would have paid $20 extra per day to forego the excess. Anyways nothing I can do about it now but please ask for ALL of the coverage options. For your own good, in LA you’re bound to have an accident.

Got scammed into being forced to use their liability insurance even though I had my own, which triples the booking price. Technically against California law, but they know no one will pursue it. They know you’ll have to take a shuttle elsewhere and spend hours rebooking a car, and they just won’t give you the car unless you pay for it.

My flight got a little delayed and we were able to reach at rental place at 12:45 but it was closed. Why would they say car is able to pick up at 12:30am if they close at 12:30 without any phone support or any shuttle to go to, I spent $28 to go in uber from airport to car rental to see they are closed and in middle of night with kids, family I am stranded on road. I had to take $85 uber again to go to hotel in augora hill and then come back $76 to get rental. Very bad experience and no empathy whatsoever. The car was making noises, uncomfortable, and not the one which I was promised. I was promised Nissan Altima but was given a VW Jetta which made noises like it has been hit or broken hood and they didn’t care, their words it’s fine.

It was never clear where we were to go to pick up the car. We received communications to go to Advantage, National and then received what seemed like an unsolicited email from Fox to go there. We tried calling several phone numbers locally but they were not working numbers. We booked another rental company. Information MUST be accurate as to where to go to get the car!

Dirty car, pick up location is hidden, so you’ll look for it for hours even with navigation on. My experience: advertised for 102$, 146 with taxes and fees, plus 36 for insurance (other companies come with insurance) so paid 182 for 1 day. The car was nice but dirty inside and outside.

U-save means you save money but lose a lot of time, which was not worth it for us to start our trip. The cost for the car was very low with no unexpected fees, however the pickup process took an hour and a half to 2 hours. To get to the car rental, we took 2 separate shuttles which was expected. However, once we got to the U-Save building there was a long line of people and it took each person 20-30 minutes to leave the counter and receive their car. The agents that are at the counter kept having to leave to pull up each car individually and all the people/families waiting outside endorsed they also waited up to 2-2.5 hours to get their car AFTER the 1/2 hour it took to get to U-save from the airport in the first place. While the car was sufficient, I will not be using this car rental company again. The only highlight of this experience was the drop off was smooth despite the heavy rain, and our shuttle driver was able to take us all the way to the terminal rather than having to wait for the second shuttle to get back to the terminal.

This car rental location never answers the phone. Never returned my calls and left 4 msgs to no avail. My trip was canceled and I was requesting cancelation or reschedule for refund. Initially when I scheduled from Kayaks referral the man who answered was rude and unprofessional. I just need to clarify whether my Credit Card was charged and receive a refund. I’ve booked and paid for my ride plenty early to get the best deal. I was supposed to pick up the car at noon but decided to get the car after dinner. When I arrived, they have canceled my reservation that I have already paid for. Made me rebook the car through a third party for double the cost then proceeded to tell me the unlimited mileage is only good for people who arrived at the airport the same day. So I had to pay more for unlimited miles. Read the fine prints, friends. They will try to get you every way possible.

I see a lot of reviews are negative for this car rental agency, and I just want to say it's not true. I had a wonderful experience with them, and was very happy with the whole process. The price, the car, the check in and check out, everything was wonderful. Yes, they are for proof of insurance - but that is standard. Remember that not everyone has full coverage on their cars. So if you do have full coverage, then your car rental is covered. If you only have liability, if you total the rental car, who is going to pay for it? They are only covering their butts. I think it's fine. I came with a printout of my "Coverages" page from my insurance policy, and if you have a credit card with coverage for car rentals, you can get a printout with your name on it to bring in as well. There was no issues and they didn't try to sell me anything and I was out on the road in 5 minutes! I will rent from them again, and you should too. They were really friendly, even they guy when I brought the car back! Great company (I rented in LAX).

Got a car after waiting longer than an hour for it as the process is totally manual - calling the dispatcher to locate a car I ordered days before (who really saved the day and did a fantastic job in balancing out the incompetence of process and the don’t care attitude of the front desk person). What I liked: Despite it being a very trying time, the manager/owner showed compassion and kindness when my rental reservation had the incorrect pickup time and I did not have the extra funds to restart the rental. God truly moved on their heart — they dropped the fees and helped me when I really needed it. This was happening while my brother was hospitalized dealing with health issues, so their support meant more than they know. I am extremely grateful and can never thank them enough for stepping in during a time of need. I was extra careful to follow all protocols they saw my questions concerning the rental and was extra kind to easy my thoughts. I would rent again! What I didn’t like: I only wish they were open on weekends, as that would have made things a little easier just in returning home. Other than that, everything went smoothly even how to return the car.

Their location has changed but I wasn’t notified. I had no way to get to the new location from the airport. There were a lot more fees than I was informed about. The pick up experience was unorganized and confusing. I was going to be charged more for dropping off the car outside of their business hours, and I wouldn’t have a way to get to the airport from there. I had to return it the day before and get a hotel. At least the car itself was fine.

Terrible experience. We spent two hours in the rental car office getting through all the hidden fees and extra charges they have. Requires a $2000 deposit in addition to an extra $25/ day rental fee unless you pay to have their insurance. Lady behind the computer was rude, disrespectful, and combative. The First car they put us in had a flat tire. 2nd car stank like weed and was dirty. 3rd car was dirty, had body damage, and warning lights indicators on the display about safety systems being damaged. Will NEVER rent from this company again. Kayak and Expedia should not offer them as a rental option.

Right Cars is purposefully misleading. They advertise super cheap rental prices and then expect local renters to either pay $2000 deposits if you use your own insurance or a $29.99 a day + $250 no refund deposit. Extraordinarily rude customer service as I noticed when they were speaking to the person infront of me. I would like them removed from your website.
