I had a mixed experience with this company. The in-person service at the counter was great — the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the online customer service was terrible. It was practically impossible to speak with a real person or get proper support when needed. The final price also ended up being much higher than expected. After adding premium insurance and extra fees, the cost almost doubled. Be aware that everything seems to come with additional charges, so the price shown here is not the real final price. To make things worse, my credit card was charged again after the rental period had already ended, even though the car was returned in the exact same condition as when we picked it up.

REPORT OF FACTS VEHICLE RENTAL UNIDAS/AVIS RENT A CAR I rented a vehicle through the rental company UNIDAS AVIS Rent a Car, located at Guarulhos International Airport GRU1 (Unidas Locadora S.A.), with pick-up taking place on June 29, 2025, at 7:22 a.m., as per the receipt in the reservation # *****. The final destination of the rental was the rental company's unit in Sorocaba SOD2 (Av. Eng. Carlos Reinal, *****, Sorocaba/SP), where the vehicle was returned on the same day, June 29, 2025, at 12:55 p.m. The rented vehicle, a white Hyundai HB20 model, license plate *****, was subjected to an initial inspection at the time of pick-up, with the procedure being carried out by the employee identified as GRU1-GILMA (unit GRU1). At the time, some damage to the car's bodywork was noted, and there was no mention or finding of cracks or damage to the windows. When the vehicle was returned to the Sorocaba unit (SOD2), a new inspection was conducted by the employee identified as GRU1-GABRI (even with the code GRU1), who claimed to have identified a crack in the front windshield, right side, attributing responsibility for the alleged damage to me and demanding payment of R$1,100.00 (one thousand and one hundred reais) to replace the glass. However, it should be noted that the aforementioned crack already existed when the vehicle was picked up, and was hidden by a sticker strategically positioned over the damaged area, which prevented its identification during the initial inspection (as shown in Photo 1, which reveals glue marks from the sticker later removed by the inspector himself upon delivery). Furthermore, the crack had already been repaired with resin, which is evidence that the damage is pre-existing and does not correspond to the period in which I used the vehicle, as shown in Photo 2. Furthermore, the short interval between the collection and return of the vehicle (approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes) makes it highly unlikely that there would have been enough time to cause and carry out repairs to the crack in question. Despite these arguments having been presented clearly, I was forced to immediately pay the amount of R$1,100.00, without any possibility of contestation or filing a dispute. It should be noted that the employee responsible refused to provide his full name, to issue an invoice or receipt for the payment made by card and, in a harsh manner, limited himself to providing only the telephone number of the company's ombudsman. Another point that deserves attention concerns the charging of a return fee of R$222.11, which was duly paid at the time of contracting, presumably to cover the costs of returning the vehicle to the unit of origin (GRU). However, I was informed by the same employee that the vehicle would remain at the Sorocaba unit, contradicting the justification for the aforementioned fee and configuring a possible undue charge.
We had a horrendous experience! We arrived at the Movida counter in the Sao Paulo airport and asked the man if he spoke English or Spanish. In Portugese he answered that he didn't. My husband and I can communicate fairly well in Portuguese using Spanish if the other person is willing to try. He refused to talk to us. I tried to tell him that we had an online reservation and we didn't know where the shuttle stop was, but he just kept saying "I don't have any cars " in Portuguese. I had the car pickup instructions with our confirmation number printed out so I showed them to him and told him to look at the confirmation. He glanced at it and then said, " I don't have any cars" in Portuguese. Then he ignored us. I was charged for the car rental. We were stuck in the airport for two hours until an Uber finally took us to the bus station in the center of Sao Paulo so we could find another rental company. That rental company filled in the gaps between our Spanish and their Portugese with google translate. The Movida guy was It was horrible! Really rude and unhelpful.

Very well located, the kiosk was inside the airport very easy to find, also the attendant l very friendly and helpful, plenty of drop in/out service, I didn’t have to wait too long for the driver to take me to the agency.
The customer service is not very helpful, I needed to keep the car for an extra day and after wasting my time on the phone I had to drive to a Budget location to make the change. Other than that I’m pleased with the rental.

I booked and pay for the car rental+insurance with my credit card, but the driver was my friend, as my Driver licence was expired, when we got there, they were trying to sell another insurance, I got confused and when I check my booking the insurance was included and paid. Even having the car rental fully paid in advance, the attendant asked for my friend’s credit card, and because he wasn’t prepared, and didn’t bring one, he was doing me a favor and he felt embarrassed for not bringing one and also he felt guilty as I had to pay another fee, just because I was serving as a guarantor having to use my card. By the way, the same card I paid for the whole thing in advance. Also, there was no clear information where to get the transfer from the airport to the Car rental agency, and when we delivered, we were told the driver was on his break. Thank God i was earlier and didn’t misses my return flight. The tank wasn’t full, showing only 2 bars and the car wasn’t looking very clear and disinfected when I got it from the agency.

When I arrived to drop off the vehicle at 5:00 AM, everyone in the office was in the back rooms asleep. I had a flight to make. They took nearly 30 minutes to get me on the shuttle. Today, I received a charge on my credit card labeled "MULTAS FOCO ALUGUEL DE" for $29.07. I have not received any emails or information about this charge. I need an explanation for this! Foco seems to be very unprofessional.
