Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests overwhelmingly praised the hotel's excellent location, which is close to major attractions and convenient for visiting the lakes. Many appreciated the restaurant and some facilities like the pool and jacuzzis. However, several reviews criticized the small and outdated rooms, poor value for the price, and issues with room comfort and amenities. While the location and some services stood out positively, room size and value were common concerns.

Okay
Javin, Jul 2025
Being within the part next to Lake McDonald lodge was great. The Inn is very basic, but had everything we needed. Wifi seemed to work OK. Unfortunately there is no access to the lake right at the Inn, instead you had to walk over to the lodge. Shower and toilet were very cramped, but in working order. Overall it was an OK stay, but I am not sure it was worth the money. You can probably find much b...

At least two things we didn't like: no air conditioning; it was 22 degrees during the night and we couldn't open the windows above the indoor pool. The other point is that the mini-putt was closed even though we were there on May 10th. I don't recommend this hotel for the summer.

Room needs to be renovated. No microwave or fridge. Entrance door has a big gap to the outside. Very old Room was clean. Pool and hot tubs are great. Restaurants were great. Meals are pricey

The multiple buildings did dissuade us from using the facilities in the main building. Stairs to climb with luggage was a little tricky. Rooms were very clean with many appreciated extras; blow dryer, ear plugs, kettle.

Pros (+) Nicely maintained hotel with clean rooms , good WiFi, nice pool and 3 whirlpools, and beautiful lobby and outdoor seating area. Convenient location and can walk to visitor center and stores and Best value dinner and good food at the Bill Pecos restaurant at the hostel across the street. Our family loved it and ate there twice
Cons (-) Beds were a bit too firm for our liking and no free breakfast but we had a mini fridge and got bagels from the grocery. Be aware that food prices are quite high in Lake Louise. Rooms were really expensive for the value but nothing comparable was available

Pros (+) Newer rooms were beautiful. Close to the skiing at Lake Louise. Albeit disappointed with the room, management did eventually offer us a discount similar to that of the rest of our ski club.
Cons (-) If you book late, you'll end up paying through the nose for smaller, dated rooms. Literally end up paying a 5 star rate for 1star room. If you book early enough and know the hotel, you will pay a 3 star rate for a 5 star room. The older rooms are in great need of updating. Literally, repeat clients get the better rooms for less while one time clients pay more for dilapidated rooms. I don't think m...

Pros (+) Great location! We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our room. Loved the overall feel and design of the inn. Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable.
Cons (-) The only thing we didn't like was that our bed only had a thin sheet on top. There was no blanket or comforter. It would have been A LOT more comfortable if there was one.
