Logan, Oct 2017
Pros (+) The room itself was relatively clean and the bathroom was modern and nicely appointed. The hardwood floors were a nice addition.
Cons (-) The room was far smaller than the pictures made it out to be. I understand that the pictures are designed to make the room seem as spacious as possible, but this was ridiculous. The room was a closet with a bed crammed inside. There was maybe a foot of space between the bed and the surrounding walls on all sides. The bed itself was very stiff and the pillows were so-so. Pros (+) Good location
Cons (-) Tiny room, too small for 4 people, could not open luggage. No coffee or water in lobby. Unfriendly front desk staff. Promised to move us on second night but never followed through.

Pros (+) The hotel has a lot of things going for it, judging by our recent visit. The property is very clean, the location close to Times Square and Hell's Kitchen is convenient, and there is a subway stop on the same block. The room was very spacious and comfortable. All in all, it was a great stay.
Cons (-) The only thing to point out is if you're a light sleeper, earplugs may be needed. We were on the ninth floor but could still hear cars blowing their horns and there is a police station next door, so sirens can frequently be heard.

Pros (+) I have stayed at the Tryp several times (perhaps 8-10x) over the past few years. Overall, the room size is good, price is good, nice little bar downstairs. Decent accommodations for the money.
Cons (-) The staff was so horrible this time around. Just overall not accommodating. There was no hot water on the coldest day of the year. My husband took a freezing cold shower and the just put their hands up like oh well!

Pros (+) The location is awesome! The cleanliness and comfort of the room fit my needs well
Cons (-) Front staff in evening is less than eager to communicate about the room availability and rates. I reserved the room via Kayak and the concept seemed foreign to the staff.
