Overview

Founded in 1691, Sekizenkan Honkan is said to be the oldest hot spring inn structure that still exists today, and is registered as an important cultural property of Gunma prefecture. It is also said to be the inspiration for the design of the inn in the Ghibli film, Spirited Away, and you can enjoy a wonderful bathing experience here. Many hot spring fans from all over Japan come to visit the "Genroku-no-Yu" baths, whose atmosphere preserves the romance of the Taisho era.
