The Country House at Hunchy Montville

The Country House At Hunchy Montville is specifically designed with a personalised, intimate approach in mind. Rather than a wide range of rooms and impersonal engagements, what you'll experience here is home cooking and baking according to your needs using fresh, locally sourced organic and free range produce. The aim of the accommodation is to offer you privacy and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. You'll be perched in one of two suites amid 12 acres of flourishing rainforest, along a quiet country road with one way in and out – no rowdy neighbours in sight. And even in all this tranquillity, you'll still only be a short trip away from the magic of the Sunshine Coast, about 20min away from esplanades and beaches, and within 5min of the Montville town centre.

This expansive five-star accommodation is only designed to accommodate two couples at a time, with only two luxurious suites. Both of the suites are beautifully furnished, with a veranda that wraps around the property offering sweeping views of the surrounding Blackall range reaching out towards the coastline. This sanctuary in the rainforest comes with a separate bedroom and living room, a bathroom with a spa bath, a walk-in robe and a furnished veranda. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed with luxury bedding, and there are luxury towels in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, there are no public transport routes from Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) to this remote accommodation at the moment. An easy way to get there from the airport is to pre-arrange a transfer to pick you up, or jump in a taxi at the airport. The Country House is roughly 30 km away from the airport, and it should take a taxi close to 30min to make the trip, depending on traffic. If you're planning on spending time in the area, consider hiring a car at the airport and driving yourself.

Karin is the home cook at this five-star establishment and has spent years honing her craft, serving a range of delicacies prepared at the house using locally sourced products to whip up her meals. Her specialities include both German and Yorkshire fare, particularly if there's pastry involved, including homemade Yorkshire pudding with roast beef, roast pork and red cabbage, trifle, apple pie and lemon tart. She's also an avid fan of seafood and Asian cuisine and caters to vegetarians, vegans and meat-eaters alike. Regardless of your preferences, Karin will offer up something for you worthy of your stay.

You don't need to be concerned with bringing any extra bedding or towels. There is an in-house cleaning service available that will make sure everything you use or have used gets cleaned. No need to wash up after yourself during dinner either; this is all taken care of by the establishment. If you need clothes or other items washed, you can contact the owners and arrange this service with them, though it may come at an additional cost.
