Summary of reviews

Guests say
Overall, guests had mixed experiences at the hotel. Many praised the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the convenient location near the train station and downtown area. However, several reviews highlighted significant cleanliness issues in rooms and bathrooms, with reports of mold, dirty floors, and unpleasant odors. The pool and spa were frequently mentioned as being out of service or not meeting expectations. While some guests enjoyed the spacious rooms and historic building, concerns about safety, maintenance, and value for price were also noted.

Pros (+) I found a weekday room on sale on the internet while travelling to Austin to visit old friends. My friend Nigel and I had a fabulous time, and the view and service are absolutley ONE THOUSAND GOLDEN STARS. Thank you for offering Austin such a fabulous hotel (:})
Cons (-) NOTHING. Well, my cheap weekday room didn't have a bathtub, but I still enjoyed y'all's amenities immensely.

Pros (+) This is a great historic hotel that has been fully renovated to modern conveniences. The rooms a very spacious and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful when needed.
Cons (-) The handicap room we stayed in (we are not handicapped) had a small bathroom countertop. Our friends staying in a standard room had a much larger countertop.
