Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's charming, historic atmosphere and convenient location, with many enjoying the vintage decor, friendly staff, and unique character of the property. The ambiance and old-world charm were standout positives, and the proximity to local attractions and transport was frequently highlighted. However, several guests noted issues with bed comfort, outdated or external bathrooms, and occasional service lapses. Despite these drawbacks, the overall experience was positive for most visitors, especially those seeking a unique, nostalgic stay.

Pros (+) We just loved the Art Deco lights and accoutrements, beautiful Grand Dining Room and the various lounges in which to luxuriate for the weekend. Great drinks on offer too, we particularly enjoyed the Great Western Golden Ale. Cocktails looked good but we didn't indulge. Good location, just near the station but no noise from the railway and just outside the door is the main street of Katoomba and the...
Cons (-) Creaking floorboards! Shower was over the bathtub, not a shower stall.
