Moness Resort

The pick of the rooms at Moness Resort that we would recommend are the Hot Tub Cottages. They’re separated from the main hotel building and can sleep up to six people, making them perfect for families or groups of friends on holiday together in the Aberfeldy region of Perthshire. You’ll also have free access to the hotel’s spa and leisure facilities and can either eat at the hotel’s restaurant or opt to cater for yourself.

Moness Resort has a strong focus on outdoor activities, so you’ll find plenty to do here if that’s what you’re after on your holiday. There is a large swimming pool, and you can fish or go cycling on the hotel premises – hire a bike directly from the hotel. Alternatively, you can go canoeing or horse riding from the hotel. Indoor activities include pool and table tennis, and there is a sports hall too, so you’ll never find yourself at a loose end. You can also indulge in more sedentary activities like feeding the ducks at one of the hotel’s ponds.

It’s definitely a good idea to sample the menu at both of the hotel’s on-site restaurants. The Uisge Bar & Restaurant offers everything from light snacks to full meals, all with the hotel chef’s unique Scottish twist. There is also a dedicated and imaginative sandwich menu, and a special kids’ menu too. The Flemmying is more upmarket, ideal for romantic holiday dinners. You can enjoy your meal in the indoor or outdoor area of the restaurant, and relax pre- or post-dinner in the adjoining bar and lounge, which has a renowned selection of liqueurs.

You can enjoy a variety of spa treatments at Moness Resort. The hotel has a Pevonia-affiliated spa, which uses only natural botanical and marine skincare products in all the treatments it offers. Treatments that you can choose from include hot stone massages, deep tissue massages, aromatherapy treatments and reflexology. You can also enjoy a classic Swedish massage, or try the Moness Orli Candle Body Experience, a deeply relaxing massage with warm oils. Various other unique Pevonia treatments are available as well. These include a full body polish, a moor mud tension relief back treatment, or a stress elimination massage.

The closest airport to the hotel is Dundee Airport, which is located just over 55 miles away. This will take you roughly 1h 15min to drive. The fastest route to take is to get onto the A90 from Dundee Airport, changing to the A9 at Perth. The most efficient private-public transport hybrid option is to take a train from the airport to Blair Atholl, and then a taxi for the remaining 20 miles to get to the resort.
